Jin Ling's face was already red with exertion, but now embarrassment on top of that is enough to make him almost dizzy with the heat of his own face for a moment! He feels like a puppy being picked up by its scruff!

"Didn't I say that I..."

Mid-sentence, he pulls back on the fishing rod hard, all of his feelings channeled into that pull.

"... got... it?"

It's that split-second where the fish scales now shine in the light, brilliant as they catch the sun. The water that it had broken through splashes onto the two of them, and... it looks as though the fish is also just about to land on them!

Wen Ning stares up in awe at the massive fish, never losing his grip on Jin Ling. An instant later, he realizes exactly where the fish's trajectory places it in relation to the two men. He quickly tugs Jin Ling away from the fish's landing path, as he prepares himself to catch the beast. He's managed white snakes before so certainly he can handle an over-sized fish. Right?
