Jim was expecting some timidness, so he's not surprised by it. The pressure is a little stronger than he was counting on, but it's pleasant, and he more than welcomes it.

His own hand moves to rest on Wen Ning's upper arm, holding on more so than pulling him any closer for now. The kiss is kept chaste too, more focused on keeping that gentle contact than he is in anything else, and the pleasurable sensation of the Chroma flowing between them is enough to make him smile against Wen Ning's lips.

Wen Ning draws back upon returning the kiss, unsure as to Jim's reaction. But seeing as the man is touching him more and is even smiling, he gathers that things went well enough, despite his unexpected force.

Jim pulls back at the same time Wen Ning does, eyes bright and smile instantly wide. His thumb brushes over Wen Ning's cheek, then he lets his hand drop to catch the other's hand again.

"That was very nice," he states at last, sure Wen Ning will agree.

Wen Ning manages a quick nod. "Y-Yes. It was..."

It is possible that he could have said that in less embarrassing way. But Jim's thumb is very distracting against his cheek.

Possibly, yes, but then he wouldn't have looked as cute as he does. Jim chuckles, smile wide and amused, then he winks at Wen Ning and tugs on his hand.

"Come on, then. Let's get back to the city," he urges. They've reached the edge of the desert by now, so the rest of the walk back should be fairly quicker and with far less incidents.

Wen Ning nods more emphatically, though the Chroma has lent more color to his face, enough to hint at what might be a blush. "Yes. We should be... close. Now."

Cute. Jim's smile is sharp and playful, but he bites back any teasing with a quiet chuckle, squeezing Wen Ning's hand and quickly resuming their walk. From here on out things should at least be a little safer, so he allows himself to relax somewhat, a little less on edge when there's no danger of giant sand worms popping up to swallow them whole.
